The department of Agricultural Economics at the Technical University of Munich is by its very nature interdisciplinary. Their projects encompass a large-scale study of common lands (LACOPE) funded by the European Union with 2.5 million Euro.
The LACOPE project (“Landscape Development, Biodiversity and cooperative Livestock Systems in Europe”) has successfully been completed in 2006 by the department and its partners. The data of common pastures in seven European countries is now ready to be analyzed in terms of our project, but has, of course, been analyzed from different research perspectives in the past.
